Check out this weekend's Uppercase All About You Newsletter for a mention of my newest Calico Series of art prints inspired by patchwork, tiles, fabric samplers and collages (and how I envision them in repeat as wallpaper)! Thanks to Janine Vangool of Uppercase Magazine for including me!
My Calico Series has 2 co-ordinating fine art prints that are now available in my Shop in 2 sizes: 8"x10" and 16"x20"! Check them out in my Shop! I’ve just entered my new “Retro Rattlers” design in this week’s Spoonflower “Brightly-Colored Reptiles” Design Challenge! This is something a little different for me...OR is it? What do you think, does this design still look like my work? I’m very curious to hear what you think. I am very much liking this graphic “look” and I find my work is always a bit of a tug-of-war between clean, graphic shapes and a more hand-drawn style. Not sure if others see that too?? See it below with a coordinating design I think emulates a closeup view of snakeskin! Check out the Voting Page to see all the colourful entries!
And I've just added this design to Throw Pillows in my New Shop...Check them out! Last week I posted about how I was having a hard time getting any work done in the midst of all the bad news (see my June 2 post), so I decided to just work directly and freely on my computer, playing around with colour and shapes and with no real end goal. Well, one week later, those little quick thoughts have turned into a full collection of art prints and repeat pattern designs. I call it "Simple Things" because it is just an ensemble of little snapshots that came out when I decided to not over-think. I must remember to work this way more often...Each design (both art prints and repeat patterns) comes in Dark and Light complementary colour ways so you can mix & match several for an eye-popping feature wall (and maybe some pillows as well!). Purchase these art prints in my NEW SHOP!
Very excited to announce that my New Shop is now OPEN! Go check out what's available! You can find my “Snake in the Grass” Collection which includes art prints featuring cheeky snakes in fresh colours, with coordinating floral- and abstract-patterned throw pillows. And I couldn’t resist, I added tote bags and all-over print Ts too! If you sign up for my Newsletter you can get 10% OFF your first order!
The Doc Cotton Marketplace is now LIVE! Doc Cotton is a London-based company offering 100% organic and ethically made-in-the-UK (in Peckham, London, specifically!) clothing and tote bags featuring unique pattern designs by independent designers...including me! All garments are made to order. I invite you to check out my brand new Doc Cotton Shop which features a curated selection of gorgeously-printed products. I hope to be adding more in the coming months...so check back often! AND a SPECIAL OFFER: the first 5 customers that buy from my Shop using the discount code "unblink10" will get 10% off their order! I just entered my "Dream" pattern design in this week's Spoonflower "Bohemian Paradise" design challenge! If you have a minute, I would very much appreciate your vote (voting ends Feb 26). Maybe it might take more than a minute because you'll probably get wrapped up in all the amazing designs in the challenge. You can vote for as many as you like and don't need to have an account. Click here to go directly to the Spoonflower Challenge Voting Page!
BTW: I have been uploading a bunch of new pattern designs to My Spoonflower Shop and they should be "Available for Sale" in the next week or two on fabric, giftwrap and wallpaper, and on home decor products at Roostery.com too! Stay tuned! ADDENDUM: Just wanted to let you know that this design came in #26 out of over 700 entries in this Spoonflower challenge! Thanks to everyone of you who took the time to vote! A happy result for my first Spoonflower design challenge! More to come... I just received Issue #40 of Uppercase Magazine in the mail and am happy to see my submission for the cover contest was included on page 37! Have a look at this wonderful magazine (one of my favourites) and all the wonderful submissions. Thanks to Janine Vangool for including it!
Oh and BTW: due to many inquiries, I decided to turn this cover illustration into a really fun repeat pattern which you can now purchase on all kinds of fun products, including totes, t-shirts, furniture and more. Check it out in my Society 6 shop! So many people have asked where they could buy my pattern designs on actual products, that I decided to open MY NEW SHOP on the online store site Society6! So far, I have added just a few of my most popular designs which you can now purchase on bags, bedding, bath products, wall art, clothing, tech products, furniture and more! I invite you to have a look and let me know if you see anything you like! And BTW: if you see a design on my website that you would like to see on a product, contact me and I will always try to accommodate your request!
