Fresh off my Top Ten placement in last week's design challenge, I've decided to enter my "City Kids" design (a bit revised) in this week's Spoonflower "Playmats" Design Challenge! How fun would this be on a child's floor?! Even better, there are several kawaii co-ordinating repeat patterns to go with this in my Spoonflower Shop as well (I'm thinking duvets and wallpaper!?) Check out all the fantastic designs on the Voting Page (voting ends April 30 at 3:00 EDT)!
I designed my "Floating World" and "Pool Rings" pattern designs with both this week's colour palette challenge in The Colour Gang and this week's Pool Party people brief in Folio Focus 2018 in mind. Luckily the colour palette and theme worked for both! I wanted to give the feeling of dreamily floating in warm water...winter's not even here and I'm looking forward to summer!
This week's brief in Folio Focus 2018 was to create some fun farmyard characters...So here is my "FAMILY FARM" collection of pattern designs featuring affectionate roosters, hens and cute little chicks! I can see these guys on some fun kitchen linens, stationery or childrens wear! Contact me if you would like to license these designs!
To see all my newest pattern designs, I also invite you to check out my IG at: https://www.instagram.com !
Working with some new colour palettes I created while doing a creative exercise in the Colour Gang yesterday, I created this new UNICORN design with a couple of coordinates! This mini-collection is available to license!
Just wanted to share the beginnings of a new collection I am calling "Little Grunt Sculpin". Grunt sculpins are one of my favourite fishes, they are super funny and cute! I suggest checking them out on Youtube. They are sometimes called "bizarre" and "ridiculous" and don't really swim but rather scoot along the sea bottom!
I always love how re-vising pattern designs with new on-trend colours really makes such a difference and gives a pattern collection new life! Here is my "Be My Valentine" Collection with gorgeous new soft colours. These designs are available to license! And one week today until Blueprint Show 1 starts in NYC, followed by Surtex on May 20-22! Looking forward to feasting my eyes at both shows! Please join me there if you can!
Thought I would give you another "sneak peek" of what I've been working on. This super fun collection features cute and friendly vehicles zooming along on their merry ways, looking forward to travelling adventures! I conceived of this collection for children, but I think I would love to have these pillows too! These new patterns and many, many more will be showing with Nerida Hansen Print & Textiles at BOTH Surtex and Blueprint Show 1 in May in NYC. Come see!
How fun is this? My "Friendly Bear" sock design won an "honourable mention" in the Corgi Sock Design Competition! Corgi is a UK company established in 1892 that supplies luxury socks to the Royal Family! Check out the announcement of the winners on the Corgi Socks Blog!
Having a grand time designing new surface patterns for Surtex 2018! Come see me at Booth 2524 at the Javits Centre NYC, May 20-22 2018! This pattern will be developed into a new collection...stay tuned!
Just wanted to post another sneak peek of the surface patterns I've been designing to get ready for Surtex 2018 in NYC in May! Here are some cute and fresh patterns in a brand new collection I've been working on! Let me know what you think!
Just thought I would post this round-up of some of the new patterns and placement prints that I designed during the super fun 10-week Folio Focus course! Can't wait to do the course again in 2018!
Already into Week 9 of Folio Focus! This week's brief was People, and although the brief was for a self-portrait, somehow these people morphed into Valentine's day patterns! Let me know what you think as this is still a WIP! I guess it could be me, since I have glasses exactly like hers!
Week 8's brief for Folio Focus was to design Halloween characters! So here is a placement pattern design for party plates and some coordinating repeat patterns!
Although this week was all about lettering, I really had fun designing patterns for my ceramics collection! Onwards next week for designing for wood products!
I've been working my way through MATS A and the last assignment is to create a design for a zipper pouch based on something we collect. So, inspired by this Japanese tea set (from my collection of "Funny Things That I Like"), I created this bold and bright "Funny Faces" design. Would love to see this as a repeat pattern as well! Let me know what you think!
