Originally designed after a trip to Mexico, someone recently referred to my “Sayulita” pattern as a “70s floral” so I thought...okay its a sign! I’ll enter it in this week’s Spoonflower “Jewel-Tone 70’s” Design Challenge! Check out all the GROOVY designs at the Voting Page!

The next Design Challenge in the They Draw & Cook's Handpicked series is "Birthday Bash" and will be curated by Ceci Butler, Owner and Creative Director of Design House Greetings. I couldn't resist...I had to submit my "After Hours" repeat pattern which I recently re-coloured with these festive, summery colours! I thought it would be perfect for celebrating someone's birthday, right?! You can see my submission on the They Draw & Cook website here!
Fresh off my Top Ten placement in last week's design challenge, I've decided to enter my "City Kids" design (a bit revised) in this week's Spoonflower "Playmats" Design Challenge! How fun would this be on a child's floor?! Even better, there are several kawaii co-ordinating repeat patterns to go with this in my Spoonflower Shop as well (I'm thinking duvets and wallpaper!?) Check out all the fantastic designs on the Voting Page (voting ends April 30 at 3:00 EDT)!
Big THANK YOU to everyone who voted in last week's Spoonflower "Australian Flora" Design Challenge! The RESULTS are just in and my "Eucalyptus" pattern design in this Orange colour palette (check out my Portfolio-Flora page to see two other palettes) squeaked into the Top Ten (I'm listed at #11, but thankfully there was a tie for #9) out of 602 eligible entries! So this design is now available for purchase at Spoonflower on many different fabrics, wallpaper and giftwrap. And see below...you can now buy it on wonderful home decor products at Roostery as well! Again, thank you for your votes! On to the next Design Challenge...
I've been playing with my newest pattern designs the last few days, and visualizing them on pillows and fabrics! I think my Far East Collection would look gorgeous on a set of pillows; my Fanciful Collection would be great for quilters or girl's dresses; my newest tropical patterns, including my Botanical Gardens Collection, Celestun and Hibiscus, would cheer up any wardrobe or interior space, and I think my Koyasan Collection would be so calming in any room! What do you think?! Can you envision these designs on other products? Let me know!
Hello! I just entered 5 of my pattern designs (some brand new and some older favourites) in Ohh Deer's Pillow Fight Design Competition! If you have a moment to support me, I would greatly appreciate your vote (you do have to register to vote, but it's very quick)! And if you love any of them, you can also purchase these as well for a limited time only (and a purchase would also give me 50 points!) Click on the images below to link to the competition pages where you can vote. If you click on my name there you can see (and vote for) all 5 of my submitted designs (or come back here to link to each design). I thank you!
The brief for Week 3 of FolioFocus 2018 is called "Hobby House", all about everyday objects, especially sewing paraphernalia! So here is my final "Sewing Obsession" Collection and a fun journal set with this collection. Wouldn't this set be a great way to keep notes about all the fun sewing and quilting projects you want to do!
This week's brief for FolioFocus 2018 was "AstroSynergy"! So I decided to design some Signs of the Zodiac, starting with "Taurus". Here is a collection with a placement print and several repeat designs. I might try and do "Aries" next...Are you a Taurus?! This collection would be wonderful on bedding, as shown!
As part of preparing for Surtex (May 20-22, Booth 2524) and Blueprint Show 1 (May 17-19) in NYC, I've been revising and recolouring some of my pattern design collections, such as this "Al Fresco" Collection here, available to license! You can see the full collection in my new LOOKBOOK which will soon be available to view at Nerida Hansen Print & Textiles where you will be able to request access to view!
