This Week's Spoonflower Design Challenge: "Vintage Sportswear"! With Thanks to Make It In Design And Their "Creative Tips" Too!
I must say this week's Spoonflower "Vintage Sportswear" Design Challenge was a tough one! I mean, what do you think of when you think of 70s, 80s or 90s sportswear?! After trying and tossing a bunch of ideas, I ended up with my "Anemone" retro floral in bright 1970s colours (first pic)! I can see a pretty cool fleece jacket or ski suit in this (what do you think, my Nelson, BC ski buddies?) Public voting is open now and you can link to the Voting Page HERE!
I also want to thank the team at Make It In Design whose "Creative Tip Of The Week" posted on their Blog on August 25 about how to use Adobe Illustrator's Blend Tool inspired me to try something new!

Whaaa-aat?! Brown and beige?!? Why not?! Here's my new "Local Colour" floral pattern (1st 2 pics below) that I entered in this week's Spoonflower "Earth Tone Throw Pillows" Design Challenge. I called it this because of some of the research I did using the photos I took at, and the "Flower and Plant Guide" I picked up from, the world-famous Butchart Gardens (a most amazing local garden) on my last visit, and some of the pics I've taken of Summer gardens and hanging baskets in and around Downtown Victoria.
I must admit I wasn't at first really enthusiastic about this palette, but I find I really love how rich and warm all the entries look! I surprise myself! So I did try out a few other new designs in this colour palette just for the heckuvit (see below)!
AND if you'd like to vote you can link to the VOTING PAGE HERE. But just a heads up...There are 1771 entries! WOW!! Is that the most ever?! Public voting for this challenge ends Tuesday January 31 at 3:00 EST!
You can also see these designs in my Spoonflower Shop by clicking on the images below.

This week's Spoonflower Design Challenge is "1970s Throw Pillows" and here is my entry, "Dreamscape"! OF COURSE I couldn't resist trying out this design in a bunch of other colourways too (see below), but I did end up entering the first Coral Orange version.
Check out all the entries at the Voting Page. Voting ends Tuesday July 26 and winners will be revealed on July 28!

Groovy! I've Entered My "Good Vibrations" Design in This Week's Spoonflower "Reworked Classics" Design Challenge!
I've entered my "Good Vibrations" design in this week's Spoonflower "Reworked Classics" Design Challenge! The idea behind this Challenge was to reimagine classic patterns, such as dots, checkers, plaids and...STRIPES! And of course, this design really needed some Groovy Retro Colours! Find this one (together with LOTS of other colourways) in my "Good Vibrations" Collection in my Spoonflower Shop. I had to make a new Collection because I went down the colour rabbit hole AGAIN and added it in LOTS of different colourways (and sizes)!

I entered my "Cow Parsley" design in this week's Spoonflower "In the Weeds" Design Challenge! But you know me, I had to try it out in a BUNCH of colours! Although the first version below is the one I entered in the Challenge (link to the Voting Page HERE), now that I'm seeing them altogether, I'm not sure which one I prefer?! Anyway, the first one is the only one I had finished before the deadline, and all the colours are now available in my "Cow Parsley" Collection in my Spoonflower Shop on Fabrics, Wallpaper and Home Decor in 3 sizes, so I guess it doesn't matter which one I prefer?! Although I'd be interested to know which one YOU prefer...
