The First-Ever WGSN Kidswear "Prints & Graphics Sourcing Guide" for Autumn/Winter 22/23 Is Now Live!9/28/2021 WGSN is one of the world's leading trend-forecasting companies, so it was quite an honour to be asked if I could provide pattern designs (some cute, some more sophisticated!) for their FIRST-EVER "Prints & Graphics Sourcing Guide" for KIDSWEAR Autumn/Winter 22/23!
For those of you who are already a WGSN Subscriber, check out all the trends identified in this new Guide HERE (you will need to sign into your WGSN Account). BUT if you don't have a subscription, here is a sneak peek of just some of my designs in the Guide.

Here is my entry for this week's Spoonflower "Pastel Halloween" Design Challenge, called "Happy Halloween Damask"! It might seem a little funny to be thinking about Halloween in the middle of Summer, but I'm sure all the amazing sewists and makers out there probably appreciate this so you're not rushed getting your spooky projects ordered and finished in time for Oct 31!
TIP: My HAPPY HALLOWEEN Collection in my Spoonflower Shop has 5 coordinating spooooky designs (but not toooo spooooky) on all kinds of fabrics, wallpaper and home decor! Each one comes in both a Pastel and Traditional colourway (see both below) AND each comes in 3 sizes too! Lots and lots of options! Check out my Spoonflower Shop and my Happy Halloween Collection AND the Voting Page to check out all the entries! Yippee!! Here is my entry for this week’s Spoonflower “Ice Cream Truck” Design Challenge. I just really wanted to go bright and happy for this one...I can imagine kids would love this on sheets, blankets, pillows, and you could make them matching pjs with fabric from my Shop! You might even get kids to wear a face mask which are also available in a child size in my Spoonflower Shop! I’ve added this design in both small- and large-scale versions.
Check out the Voting Page to see all the entries! And you can also see what's available in my Spoonflower Shop too! Do you love pugs? I know that people who love pugs REALLY LOVE pugs, so my new “I Love Pugs” pattern design is for you! I’ve entered this one in this week’s Spoonflower “Dog Days” Design Challenge! Link here to the Voting Page!
I submitted my colourful, folk-inspired “In the Village” pattern design to this week’s “Boy Wonder” Design Challenge from Spoonflower and boy’s clothing brand Boy Wonder which believes boys are not only strong and tough, but also sweet and cuddly and WONDER-ful! So I thought rainbows, flowers, cute animals and bright colours would be perfect! A bit different for this week’s challenge: the winner by popular vote will get a licensing deal with Boy Wonder! So if you have a moment, I would love your vote...Here is the link to the Voting Page!
Fresh off my Top Ten placement in last week's design challenge, I've decided to enter my "City Kids" design (a bit revised) in this week's Spoonflower "Playmats" Design Challenge! How fun would this be on a child's floor?! Even better, there are several kawaii co-ordinating repeat patterns to go with this in my Spoonflower Shop as well (I'm thinking duvets and wallpaper!?) Check out all the fantastic designs on the Voting Page (voting ends April 30 at 3:00 EDT)!
I use this pattern, called "Sunny With Cloudy Periods" as my phone’s wallpaper because it’s so happy and always makes me smile. Its now available on fabric, gift wrap and wallpaper (how fun would this be in a kids room?!) at Spoonflower and on home decor items at Roostery Home AND I just entered it in this week’s Spoonflower “April Showers” Design Challenge! Check out the entries on the Voting Page (voting ends April 16).
I've been playing with my newest pattern designs the last few days, and visualizing them on pillows and fabrics! I think my Far East Collection would look gorgeous on a set of pillows; my Fanciful Collection would be great for quilters or girl's dresses; my newest tropical patterns, including my Botanical Gardens Collection, Celestun and Hibiscus, would cheer up any wardrobe or interior space, and I think my Koyasan Collection would be so calming in any room! What do you think?! Can you envision these designs on other products? Let me know!
This week's brief in Folio Focus 2018 was to create some fun farmyard characters...So here is my "FAMILY FARM" collection of pattern designs featuring affectionate roosters, hens and cute little chicks! I can see these guys on some fun kitchen linens, stationery or childrens wear! Contact me if you would like to license these designs!
To see all my newest pattern designs, I also invite you to check out my IG at: https://www.instagram.com ! Working with some new colour palettes I created while doing a creative exercise in the Colour Gang yesterday, I created this new UNICORN design with a couple of coordinates! This mini-collection is available to license!
I love how my newest pattern designs look on these cozy quilts! On the first one are my "Little Grunt Sculpin" and "Constellation of Starfish" pattern designs; the second one has my new "Cupcake Dreams" and "PomPoms" designs. These would make great gifts (I'd like to get one!), don't you think?
Just wanted to share the beginnings of a new collection I am calling "Little Grunt Sculpin". Grunt sculpins are one of my favourite fishes, they are super funny and cute! I suggest checking them out on Youtube. They are sometimes called "bizarre" and "ridiculous" and don't really swim but rather scoot along the sea bottom!
My New "Happy Skies and Friendly Rides" Collection! Perfect for Kids (and Maybe Some Adults Too!)3/10/2018 Thought I would give you another "sneak peek" of what I've been working on. This super fun collection features cute and friendly vehicles zooming along on their merry ways, looking forward to travelling adventures! I conceived of this collection for children, but I think I would love to have these pillows too! These new patterns and many, many more will be showing with Nerida Hansen Print & Textiles at BOTH Surtex and Blueprint Show 1 in May in NYC. Come see!
How fun is this? My "Friendly Bear" sock design won an "honourable mention" in the Corgi Sock Design Competition! Corgi is a UK company established in 1892 that supplies luxury socks to the Royal Family! Check out the announcement of the winners on the Corgi Socks Blog!
Having a grand time designing new surface patterns for Surtex 2018! Come see me at Booth 2524 at the Javits Centre NYC, May 20-22 2018! This pattern will be developed into a new collection...stay tuned!
